About
Created in 2006 by Singaporean math educator Terry Chew, SASMO has grown into one of the most influential competitions in the Asia-Pacific. It is highly prestigious in Vietnam because it serves as the official primary qualifier for elite global events like SIMOC and IJMO. Vietnam consistently ranks in the top three globally for Gold medals in SASMO.
Participating in SASMO is a great way to build a math portfolio. It's widely respected in Vietnam because it rewards both academic work and natural curiosity, and winning a medal here demonstrates the ability to adapt and solve non-routine challenges.
